About Our Church

We are located in North-West Toronto, Ontario, Canada, dedicated to honoring God, and helping people. We try our best to be people-friendly, and to make people feel welcome. You are important to God and to us.

Come a little early at 10:45am, before Sunday Morning Gospel and Sunday School, and enjoy coffee and cookies on us. Park in our spacious lot or walk a few steps from the TTC at Islington & Bergamot, just north of 401.

Who Are We ?

We are Christians who gather simply in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. ( Matthew 18:20; 1 Corinthians 5:4 )

We are nondenominational, owning only such names as are given to the children of God in the New Testament Scriptures, such as: believers, brethren, Christians, saints, etc., any of which satisfactorily describes all who belong to Christ. ( Acts 11:26; Colossians 1:2 )

We have no formulated creed, but accept the Bible, which we believe to be Divinely inspired. The Word of God is our infallible guide in all things. ( 2^nd Timothy 3:16 )

We are those who observe, in simplicity, ordinances left by the Lord Jesus for His people, namely:

Baptism: By immersion, of true believers in Christ ( Matthew 28:19 )

The Lord's Supper: ( Breaking of Bread, Communion ) 'As oft as ye eat this bread and drink this cup ye do show the Lord's death till He come. This do in remembrance of me.' ( 1^st Corinthians 11:23-26; Acts 2:42; Luke 22:19 )

Similar groups of believers in Christ following the New Testament pattern meet in all parts of the world.

What Do We Believe ?

The Bible is the Word of God, revealing His mind to us. ( 2^nd Timothy 3:15-16; 1^st Corinthians 2:13; 2^nd Peter 1:21 )

That the One God eternally exists in three equal persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. ( Matthew 28:19; 2^nd Corinthians 13:14 )

That Jesus Christ is the only begotten and eternal Son of God, miraculously conceived in the virgin Mary, by the Spirit of God, and that He was the only one whose life was absolutely sinless. ( John 1:1; Matthew 1:18-23 )

The total depravity of man through the fall in the Garden of Eden, and that it is impossible for man to be saved by his own works or religious observances. ( Romans 3:23; Ephesians 2:8-9 )

That on the cross Christ paid the full penalty of sin forever. ( John 19:30; Hebrews 10:12; 1^st Peter 2:24 ).

That God set His seal of approval to Christ's work by raising Him from the dead. ( Acts 1:3, 2:32-36; Philippians 2:9-11 )

That any person who in faith rests upon that finished work is saved, immediately receiving the forgiveness of sins and eternal life. (John 5:24; Ephesians 2:8; 1^st John 5:11-13 ).

That a person who is saved is also born again. This new birth is spiritual , the Spirit of God using the Word of God to effect it. ( John 3: 1-8; James 1:18; 1^st Peter 1:23 )

The eternal punishment of every person who refuses to accept Christ as personal Saviour. ( John 5:28-29; Hebrews 2:3; Revelation 20:11-15 )

That the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ for His own can happen at any moment, raising those who have died believing in Him and changing the living believers and taking them all to be forever with Himself. ( 1^stThessalonians 4:13-17; John 14:3; 1^st Corinthians 15:51-52 )

Why Are We Here ?

To preach the Gospel freely so that souls might be saved. The Gospel being the good news of forgiveness of sins and eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Our objective is 'souls for Christ', and not just church membership. ( Mark 16:15 )

To teach children the Bible way to heaven. We invite you to bring your children to our Sunday School. ( Matthew 19:14; 2^nd Timothy 3:15 ).

To help believers grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. ( 2^nd Peter 3:18 )

To provide fellowship for all true believers in Christ. ( Acts 2:42, Hebrews 10:25 )
